Speak Up

"BRAIDING SWEETGRASS" BOOK CLUB
Friday, Nov. 12, time and location to be determined
Sponsored by Multicultural Student Programs and Services (MSPS), FeministND, NASAND, and the GRC, this book club will examine “Braiding Sweetgrass,” a nonfiction book written by Robin Kimmerer, a registered member of the Potawatomi Nation. In this book, Kimmerer discusses the creation of stories and feminist challenges to Eurocentric ideas of domination into an easy to consume narrative. “TRANSCENDENT KINGDOM” BOOK CLUB

BLACK AND CATHOLIC AT NOTRE DAME

Campus Ministry is excited to celebrate Black Catholic History Month and welcome G. Marcus Cole, the Joseph A. BLACK ECUMENICAL PRAYER SERVICE
Thursday, Nov. 11, 7:15 p.m., Coleman-Morse Lounge
Campus Ministry invites all to attend a Black Ecumenical Prayer Service this Thursday. This prayer service will include scripture, music, and a brief student reflection. Cleveland Sellers IV, a first year student and member of the Men’s Soccer team, will speak about his relationship with God and where God fits into his life. Emorja Roberson, doctoral student in the Sacred Music Program, will lead the music. A reception will follow.  

EXALT ADORATION
Friday, Nov. 12, 7:30 - 9 p.m., Keenan-Stanford Chapel
All are invited to gather for EXALT Adoration and Reconciliation in the Keenan-Stanford Chapel this Friday. Rev. Gabriel Emmanuel, C.F.R., will offer a brief reflection on prayer, followed by exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, music from Totus Tuus, and Reconciliation during our night of prayer and worship. FUNERAL FOR ANDY WATKINS, NOTRE DAME ALUMNUS AND MEMBER OF ACE 28 CLASS
Saturday, Nov. 13, 1 p.m., Basilica of the Sacred Heart
Andy Watkins, a member of the ACE 28 cohort, 2021 graduate of Notre Dame, and former resident of O'Neill Family Hall, passed into eternal life on Tuesday, Oct. 19. The University joins the Watkins family and all those who grieve Andy's passing. For those who would like to attend, the funeral Mass will be held this Saturday in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. The funeral will also be available via live stream on the Campus Ministry website.

DATING UNDER THE DOME: ARE YOU CALLED TO MARRIAGE?

All men and women considering a vocation to Catholic Christian marriage are invited to an evening of formation and discernment. Whether you’re single, dating, or engaged, please join Campus Ministry for “Dating under the Dome.” Several newly married Notre Dame couples will present on dating and their marriage discernment process and share insights and tips to help you on your own journey. All are invited to celebrate Mass with prayers, music, and readings in many different languages. On Nov. 21, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, a perfect day to bring together many of the cultures and languages that make up Notre Dame. A reception featuring a variety of food and drink will follow in the Coleman-Morse Lounge sponsored by Campus Ministry, MSPS, and ACE.
