Presidential Inauguration Events

Be sure and join the Notre Dame community for the Inauguration of Rev. Robert A. Dowd, C.S.C., as the 18th President of the University of Notre Dame starting tomorrow, Wednesday, September 11, through Friday, September 13. Visit the Inauguration webpage to learn more about the following.

CELEBRATORY CAMPUS-WIDE INAUGURATION PICNIC
Wednesday, September 11, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Library Lawn
All undergraduate, graduate, and professional students and their families are invited to kick off the Inauguration festivities with a celebratory picnic. The evening will feature a wide variety of free food offerings, including a taco tent, smokehouse barbecue, a global foods tent, a dessert station, and many local food trucks. Dining halls will be closed Wednesday evening.

NOTRE DAME FORUM: WHAT DO WE OWE EACH OTHER?
Thursday, September 12, 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 3:15 p.m., Leighton Concert Hall, DeBartolo Performing Arts Center
The Inauguration Forum will feature a series of four fireside chats with various global leaders. All are welcome to attend one or all of the conversations. Visit forum.nd.edu for more information.

INAUGURATION MASS
Friday, September 13, 10:00 a.m.

All are welcome to celebrate Mass, but please note that seating in the Basilica is reserved. Open seating in a covered area on Bond Quad will be available to all members of the Notre Dame community. The Mass will also be live streamed from nd.edu.

INAUGURATION STUDENT RALLY AND WALKOVER
Friday, September 13, 1:00 – 2:15 p.m., DeBartolo Quad

All students are invited to stop by DeBartolo Quad for an ice cream social with music DJ’d by Assistant Vice President for Campus Ministry, Fr. Pete McCormick, C.S.C., prior to the formal Convocation. At 2:15 p.m., join the student procession into Purcell Pavilion for Fr. Dowd’s Inauguration Ceremony. Wear clothing representing your residence halls, clubs, colleges, schools, and departments.

STUDENT INAUGURAL BALL
Friday, September 13, 9:30 – 11:00 p.m., Notre Dame Stadium

All undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, and spouses are invited to this celebratory event to close out the Inauguration festivities. A Notre Dame student ID (or corresponding spouse ID) will be required for entrance. Recommended attire is "dress to impress!" Plus, look to the sky for a special inauguration surprise once the sun goes down!

FLAG FOOTBALL OFFICIATING CLINIC

Do you love football? Are you looking for an on-campus job? Join RecSports for our Flag Football Officiating Clinic tonight! No previous experience is required, and all skill levels are welcome. Attendees will be eligible for hire after attending. Learn more here.

FIT ACADEMY | GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR PREP COURSE
Applications Close Thursday, September 13, Noon

RecSports is seeking passionate fitness fanatics who love learning and helping others. Fit Academy is an 8-week program where attendees learn the basics of teaching group fitness and get hands-on experience. All accepted applicants who complete the full program will receive a discounted ACE Group Fitness Instructor Certification exam voucher, a CPR certification valid for two years, and the opportunity to work with RecSports. Apply by Thursday, September 13, at noon.

DOMER RUN 2024

RecSports' Domer Run is Saturday, October 5, and registration is now open. Make sure you reserve your spot at the starting line by Friday, September 20, at noon.
