BOOSTER REQUIREMENT AND ON-CAMPUS CLINIC
To remain protected against the rapidly spreading Omicron variant, a COVID booster is required of all students - undergraduate, graduate, and professional, including students studying or performing research remotely and/or virtually - and documentation must be recorded no later than this Friday, Jan. 21.

Documentation for those who receive the booster vaccine at the on-campus clinic will be automatically uploaded to the student’s UHS patient portal. Those who have received the booster vaccine at an off-campus location, including the Notre Dame Wellness Center, must upload a picture of their vaccine card to their UHS patient portal. Instructions for uploading booster documentation can be found here

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Updates

DESIGN PLANNING BEGINS FOR CENTER FOR DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
Fr. Jenkins recently shared that the architects for the new Center for Diversity and Inclusion, Workshop Architects, Inc. will lead the process of engaging the University community to design the new space in the LaFortune Student Center. Workshop Architects, Inc. will work closely with Student Affairs and the University’s architect to conduct various design sessions with faculty, staff, and students, including leaders from Diversity Council, Student Government, PrismND, and the Fighting Irish Scholars to help conceptualize the new center. The firm will visit campus throughout the spring semester to conduct interviews and workshops before finalizing the design of the space in May 2022. This process will be similar to the process used to design the Duncan Student Center, also led by Workshop Architects, Inc.

INCLUSIVE CAMPUS STUDENT SURVEY TO LAUNCH NEXT MONTH
This February, students at all levels will be invited via email to complete the Inclusive Campus Student Survey to help the University assess the overall climate on campus related to diversity and inclusion, and offer invaluable insight into instances of adverse treatment experienced by our students. This important survey seeks to understand students’ experiences and sense of belonging based upon various aspects of identity including race, national origin, disability, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, political views, and other personal characteristics. This is the third iteration of the survey, which was first administered in 2018 and created in close collaboration with various student leaders, including the Campus Climate Student Advisory Committees

Outcomes from past Inclusive Campus Student Survey results include the creation of the Senior Fellows roles in the areas of diversity and inclusion and bystander intervention; increased education on implicit bias and inclusion for all residence hall staff; the expansion of GreeNDot’s bystander program to address issues of cultural, sex-based, or sexual-orientation-based harassment and discrimination; and the expansion of mandatory diversity and inclusion training for faculty. Importantly, past survey results have been used in a number of academic and non-academic settings for faculty, staff, and students to better understand our campus climate and the experiences of Notre Dame students of all identities with the goal of making our campus a community where every student feels a sense of inclusion and true belonging.

The full results of the 2018 and 2020 Inclusive Campus Climate Surveys are available to the campus community at diversity.nd.edu/inclusion.
