ABIDE DURING LENT

Are you looking for a way to engage with the season of Lent in community? Join us Monday evenings for Abide: Catholic Community Nights. This Monday, February 19, Fr. Pete McCormick, C.S.C., will join us as we enter the Lenten season together! Please email Meg Hunter-Kilmer with any questions.

EMMAUS WALKS
Biweekly throughout Lent
Do you want to dive deeper into Scripture this Lent through reflection and intentional discussion with a fellow student? Complete this form to sign up for the first of our biweekly Emmaus Walks during Lent. Students will be randomly paired with another student for a journey together throughout campus guided by Scripture. Campus Ministry will provide the Scripture passages and reflection questions for each Emmaus Walk, allowing you to enter into a conversation about your own journey of faith. The first Emmaus Walk will take place the week of February 18. Please email Cat LaPorte with any questions.

LENTEN SMALL GROUP ON THE EUCHARISTIC PRAYER IN SPANISH
Tuesdays, 7 p.m., Coleman-Morse Center, Room 301
During the Lenten season, Latino Student Ministry members will take a deeper dive into the Liturgy of the Eucharist prayers. All are welcome to join on Tuesdays during the Lenten season beginning on February 20 and running through March 26, with an Easter Celebration on April 2! ¡Tendremos botanas/bocadillos! Do you love flag football? Are you looking for a way to get more involved on campus? Join RecSports for an officials clinic! All experience levels are welcome, and clinic participants are eligible for hire after attending. For more information, please email Von Williams.

HALLOW
Lent starts tomorrow! Join the Hallow Pray40 challenge, and journey through the spiritual classic He Leadeth Me and other powerful testimonies of surrender with millions of others and these amazing guides:

- Mark Wahlberg, to lead us in incredible fasting, discipline, and surrender challenges and Scripture motivation to keep us going through Lent
- Jonathan Roumie, who portrays Jesus in The Chosen, to lead us through powerful reflections on what it means to completely surrender our lives to God
- Fr. Mike Schmitz, host of the #1 Christian podcast Bible in a Year, to lead us through weekly reflections on the Gospel and excerpts from He Leadeth Me
- Sr. Miriam James, S.O.L.T., to guide us in imaginative prayer on the moments before Christ’s death and resurrection

You can create your own group or join a group in the app. Hallow has found that people are 50 percent more likely to complete a daily community challenge like Pray40 if you’ve joined a group and prayed with others. Click here to get started. 

University Counseling Center (UCC)

WOMEN+ IN STEM SUPPORT SPACE: SCIENCE. TECHNOLOGY. ENGINEERING. MATHEMATICS.
Fridays, 2:45 - 3:45 p.m., Fitzpatrick Hall, Room 181
Women+ in STEM tend to feel pressure to succeed and provide evidence of their knowledge and abilities because they are in male-dominated fields. This space is an opportunity for Women+ in STEM to talk about challenges, experiences, and what it’s like being a “first” to achieve a monumental goal in their field.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SUPPORT SPACE FOOD EVENT
Tuesday, February 27, 5 - 6:30 p.m., Center for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Community Kitchen
The UCC hosts weekly support spaces for international students throughout the 2024 spring semester. Dinner will be served at the next event starting at 5 p.m., followed by two support spaces: one for graduate students and one for undergraduate students. The support spaces will run from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. To ensure there is enough food for all attendees, please RSVP no later than Wednesday, February 21.

GRIEF AND LOSS GROUP
Tuesdays, 3:15 - 4:15 p.m., University Counseling Center, Saint Liam Hall, Third Floor
This group provides an opportunity for students who have experienced the death of someone important to them to talk about their experiences with grief. This is a supportive space that will allow students to connect and receive support from others who “get it.” Each session will have a general theme, such as exploring the uniqueness of grief, self-care, secondary losses, and more. Complete a Drop-In appointment at the UCC to join this therapy group. 

McDonald Center for Student Well-Being (McWell)

ILLUMINATE YOUR CREATIVITY AT ‘CREATE TO ILLUMINATE’!
Wednesday, February 21, 5 - 7 p.m., LaFortune Student Center, Room 102
Unleash your inner artist and brighten up the winter evenings with a touch of color and light. Join McWell and Campus Ministry for a free, unique event that promises a cozy atmosphere where you can add a spectrum of colors to stained glass images that will shine with your personal touch. You can also craft a charming glass, faux candle to carry some warmth back home with you. Snacks will be provided.

CREATE THE LIGHT SCAVENGER HUNT
The Create the Light Peaceful Places Scavenger Hunt has begun! Get outside, embrace the winter season, and visit all eight places on campus before Friday, February 23 and claim your prize of warm, fuzzy socks! Click here for clues.

DRY40 KICK-OFF: CHIPOTLE, CRAFTS, AND COOKIES

As we enter into Lent and look ahead to spring, challenge yourself to reflect on your relationship with alcohol and abstain for 40 days as part of this process by pursuing new hobbies, new ways of connecting, and now models of fun. In place of alcohol or other unhelpful habits, enjoy activities and alcohol-free connection. Join us today for Chipotle, crafts, and cookies!
