COVID-19 Updates

Throughout the academic year, the Division of Student Affairs will provide regular guidance and answers to student questions and concerns related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. These updates are based on feedback received from student inquiries to University Health Services (UHS) and conversations with members of Student Government

DASHBOARD NUMBERS
On Monday, the COVID-19 Dashboard reported the lowest numbers of 2022, with 126 new positive cases last week and a campus positivity rate of 8.6 percent. These numbers are notably lower than the previous week, which recorded 359 positive cases and 21 percent positivity. For reference, the positivity rate percentages in the previous weeks of 2022 were in the mid-teens to low twenties. The most recent numbers also indicate a downward trend in our campus community and follow national trends after the expected surge fueled by the omicron variant.

While this is welcome news, there is still much work to be done as Notre Dame’s cases remain higher than at any point in the fall semester, and University leadership continues to consult with state and local health officials to closely monitor the situation on campus and in the local community. As promised in the Jan. 21 campus message, an update will be provided to students, faculty, and staff later this week on potential adjustments to campus protocols.
