Campus Ministry

YOM KIPPUR
We hold all members of the Jewish faith in prayer as they observe Yom Kippur which begins at sunset today, Tuesday, Oct. 4, and ends at sundown tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 5. One of the holiest days on the Jewish calendar, Yom Kippur is a day of atonement focusing on prayer and repentance. Please assure your friends who are members of the Jewish community that you will be praying for them in a special way. 

ANOINTING OF THE SICK: A PRAYER OF HEALING FOR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ILLNESS
Tuesday, Oct. 4, 8 p.m., Dunne Hall Chapel
All students are invited to the Anointing of the Sick when we will pray together for the healing of physical, mental, and spiritual wounds. The liturgy will include a brief explanation of the sacrament and prayer service, followed by the anointing for those receiving the sacrament. As Fall Break approaches and you find yourself navigating new obstacles and the continuously changing world, let Campus Ministry help with a listening ear and the perspective and hope that our faith provides. Stop by 113 Coleman-Morse, Monday through Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. to talk with a campus minister, or sign up for a different time to talk through the online request form.  

EXALT EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
Friday, Oct. 7, 7:30 - 9 p.m., Ryan Hall Chapel of Saint Anne
All are invited to EXALT Adoration and Reconciliation this Friday. Fr. Brian Ching, C.S.C., Rector of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, will offer a brief reflection on discernment in the context of the Eucharistic Revival, followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, music from Totus Tuus, and Reconciliation during our night of prayer and worship. SEEK23 INFO SESSION

SEEK23 (Jan. 2 - 6, 2023, St. Louis, MO) is a 5-day Catholic conference put on by FOCUS, where thousands of college students gather to hear from gifted speakers, spend time in prayer and fellowship, and ask the big questions about God, life, love, and how to discover true happiness. This year, Campus Ministry will coordinate a group to attend!   

Learn more about this incredible annual event at the upcoming informational session. Participation is open to undergraduate and graduate students from Notre Dame, Saint Mary’s College, and Holy Cross College. Email Brett Perkins for more information.  

University Counseling Center (UCC)

INNSIGHTFUL EMOTIONAL WELLNESS PROGRAM
Virtual, Sign up by Friday, Oct. 14
This Fall, the UCC will offer the Innsightful, 6-week Emotional Wellness Program to interested students FREE of charge. The Innsightful program helps students learn skills to better manage their emotions and improve their well-being, and includes a weekly virtual psychoeducational group, mental health coaching, and access to psychoeducational materials. The program has been demonstrated to increase emotional connection with others, engagement, and feelings of belonging, as well as initiative and motivation.

Interested students can sign-up to participate directly on the Innsightful website using their Notre Dame email address and the coupon code “FreeNotreDame”. Innsightful will form small psychoeducational support groups based on the availability students provide at registration. Graduate and undergraduate students are placed in separate groups. All groups will begin the week of October 24 and run for 6 weeks. For more information, please contact the UCC at 574-631-7336.  

Gender Relations Center (GRC)

WALKING HAND IN HAND: NAVIGATING THE SEXUAL ASSAULT SUPPORT SYSTEM ON CAMPUS
Tuesday, Oct. 11, 7 p.m., Hesburgh Library Carey Auditorium
Students are invited to learn from Amber Monroe (Title IX), Jessica Richmond-Castello (Family Justice Center of Saint Joseph County), and Lane Obringer (Student Government) about how to support survivors of sexual assault and address the effects of trauma. Snacks and free T-shirts will be provided.
