Health and Wellness Resources

CALM APP
As a way to help students, faculty, and staff care for their emotional well-being, the University has partnered with Calm. The Calm app provides tools to help you relax, focus, and rest through guided sessions on sleep, meditation, and relaxation. Sign up for a free, premium subscription using your netID by following these instructions.

TIMELYCARE: 24/7 ACCESS TO TELEHEALTH CARE
In addition to the University Counseling Center (UCC), University Health Services (UHS), the McDonald Center for Student Well-Being (McWell), and the Center for Student Support and Care, the Health and Wellness Unit within the Division of Student Affairs also offers a telehealth program to students called TimelyCare (formerly Fighting Irish Care). While students are encouraged to visit UHS and UCC while on campus during business hours, this additional service provides 24/7 access to medical and mental telehealth care across the United States, with no cost at the time of your visit.

Whether you're feeling sick or overwhelmed, students can talk to a licensed provider from their smartphone or any web-enabled device. Licensed providers are available to diagnose non-emergent medical conditions, prescribe medications, and offer mental health support and wellness coaching via phone or secure video visits. Flu Vaccine Blitz

The University will offer free flu vaccines to students, faculty, and staff during the second Flu Vaccine Blitz, which runs through Wednesday, Oct. 27. Registration is required and is now open.

Like last year, all students – undergraduate, graduate, and professional – are required to receive the seasonal flu vaccine this fall. Click here to register.

HAUNTED TOUR OF NOTRE DAME
Thursday, Oct. 28, 7 p.m., Snite Museum of Art
Have you heard Notre Dame's untold stories about football... the Dome... Farley... ghosts? Join SAO and the Office of Student Enrichment for this one-of-a-kind, spooky walking tour of campus starting at the Snite Museum. Be sure and sign up here to claim your spot! Tours will depart every 15 minutes and the last group will leave at 8:30 p.m.

MCWELL RECESS: DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS

You’re invited to take a break with the Senior Fellows from McWell and Multicultural Student Programs and Services (MSPS) at Recess, a weekly event to discover opportunities for active breaks in your busy life. This week, McWell will be on South Quad to celebrate Día de Los Muertos, a Mexican tradition that honors the lives of loved ones who have passed away. KORU MINDFULNESS PROGRAM REGISTRATION NOW OPEN
Koru is an nationally-known, evidence-based mindfulness program developed specifically for college students by experts at Duke University. The final sessions in the October Are You Career Ready? Career Development Series will take place this week. Upon series completion, students will earn a certificate and can promote their accomplishments to employers on their Handshake profile.

    These sessions focus on interview preparation. Students will be taken through the steps necessary to have a successful interview. The focus is to prepare for the interview, learn how to respond to different types of interview questions, and navigate the follow-up process after the interview.

INTRODUCTION TO FINANCIAL SERVICES ROLES FOR NON-BUSINESS SOPHOMORES
Monday, Nov. 1, 5:15 - 6:15 p.m., 512 Duncan Student Center
A discussion of the various roles in Financial Services, including investment banking, asset management, sales and trading, private wealth, corporate banking, private equity, and venture capital. Staff will also discuss qualifications and skills needed, workplace environment, competitive nature of roles, recruiting timeline, and tips for success. Register here.

Campus Ministry

NEED TO TALK?
Campus Ministry is here for you to talk about anxieties, challenges, opportunities for hope, your spiritual journey, thoughts about vocation, and anything else that might be on your mind and heart. Through our Need to Talk? ministry, campus ministers are available to listen, offer guidance, and share the wisdom and hope our faith provides. Drop by our open office hours, Monday through Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. in 113 Coleman-Morse - located in the middle of the first floor next to the fountain. You can also request another time through the online form.

CONCERT FOR THE MISSIONS
Friday, Oct. 29, 8 p.m., Basilica of the Sacred Heart
Join the Campus Ministry choirs for a concert to benefit the Holy Cross Missions in Haiti. The Congregation of Holy Cross's work in Haiti spans eight of the country’s 10 dioceses, and two Holy Cross priests now serve in the hierarchy as bishops. The Congregation administers 14 primary and secondary schools and also serves in eight parishes. Admission is free, and a free-will offering will be taken to benefit rebuilding efforts in the wake of the earthquake and Tropical Storm Grace that devastated the country in August 2021. All are welcome.

BASILICA ORGAN CONCERT
Sunday, Oct. 31, 8 p.m., Basilica of the Sacred Heart
Basilica organist Jonathan Hehn will perform an organ concert in the Basilica as part of the Debartolo Performing Arts Center's O'Malley Sacred Music Series. Entitled "Dance, Dance, Evolution," this innovative and fun program will feature all dance-based music from the 16th to the 21st centuries. All are welcome to attend this free concert. DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS
Tuesday, Nov. 2, 7:30 p.m. Cedar Grove Cemetery
Join Campus Ministry and MSPS in a celebration of life! Día de Los Muertos is rooted in indigenous traditions that celebrate the life and memory of the deceased. On this day, family and friends unite in prayer and celebration to commemorate the life of their loved ones. The celebration will begin at 7:30 p.m. with a procession from Cedar Grove Cemetery on Notre Dame Avenue to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart for an 8 p.m. prayer service where Becky Ruvalcaba will preside and preach. A reception in Remick Commons of the ACE building will follow. All are welcome. 

LOG CHAPEL VIRTUAL TOUR
Leading up to the celebration of Notre Dame’s 179th anniversary on Nov. 26, Campus Ministry will take you on a virtual tour of one of the most iconic parts of Notre Dame’s campus: the Log Chapel. The Log Chapel is rich with old Notre Dame history and we’re so excited to share it with you. Make sure you’re following @ndbasilica on Instagram so you can follow along!  

CONFESSION OFFERED IN DUNCAN STUDENT CENTER
A priest will be available for the Sacrament of Confession every Tuesday and Friday from 12 to 1:30 p.m. in room W208 of the Duncan Student Center.

Family Resource Center (FRC)

PREGNANCY SUPPORT SERVICES
For a student facing a planned or unplanned pregnancy, the physical, emotional, and spiritual issues can seem overwhelming. In keeping with its mission as a Catholic University, Notre Dame is committed to life and to offering students resources that support life. Therefore, the University will make every effort to provide pregnant students with caring, non-judgmental, professional assistance and support. Assistance is also available for those affected by the pregnancy of someone close to them. For more information, please contact Peggy Hnatusko, Pregnancy Support Specialist at ndfrc@nd.edu.

FRC'S FOURTH ANNUAL HALLOWEEN PARTY

All Notre Dame students who are parenting, married, or pregnant, spouses, and children, are invited to have a HOWLING good time at the annual FRC Halloween Party. Notre Dame Forum: The Oedipus Project

A PRODUCTION ON CLIMATE CHANGE
Wednesday, Oct. 27, 7 p.m., Dahnke Ballroom, Duncan Student Center
As part of Notre Dame Forum, Theater of War Productions will present the virtual production of The Oedipus Project this Wednesday in the Duncan Student Center Dahnke Ballroom. Actors will read scenes from Sophocles’ “Oedipus the King” as a catalyst for a discussion on climate change. The ancient play is the story of arrogant leadership, ignored prophecy, intergenerational curses, willful blindness and the ecological collapse of the archaic city of Thebes.

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I Visit

ACADEMIC CONVOCATION AND HONORARY DEGREE CONFERRAL
Thursday, Oct. 28, 5:15 p.m., Basilica of the Sacred Heart and Virtual
The University of Notre Dame is honored to welcome His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, spiritual leader of Eastern Orthodox Christians worldwide and courageous champion of environmental stewardship, migrants, and religious liberty. Join University President Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., as the University bestows an honorary degree upon Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew The convocation is free and open to members of the University community but ticketed, and seating in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart is limited. The convocation will be live-streamed. More information can be found here.

RECEIVE A BLESSING 
Thursday, Oct. 28, 6:45p.m., Grotto
Students are invited to see and receive a blessing from His All-Holiness Bartholomew I, Archbishop of Constantinople-New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch. Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew is the spiritual leader of 300 million Orthodox Christians, has been a leading champion of environmental stewardship, and is one of the world's most eminent religious leaders. Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will visit the Grotto and offer his blessing to those present at the Grotto. For questions, please email OMECA@nd.edu.
