Support, Resources, and Programming

The Division of Student Affairs aspires to serve as a trusted resource, helping to connect students with information regarding health, development, faith, residential life, extracurricular interests, and future endeavors. For questions or concerns, please email osa@nd.edu.

COVID-19 Updates

Throughout the academic year, the Division of Student Affairs will provide regular guidance and answers to student questions and concerns related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. These updates are based on feedback received from student inquiries to University Health Services (UHS) and conversations with members of Student Government.

SPRING BREAK SURVEILLANCE TESTING
Students who are unvaccinated and received an exemption from the vaccination requirement do not need to report for surveillance testing during Spring Break, but are required to report for their scheduled weekly surveillance test before and after Spring Break.

SPRING BREAK SYMPTOMATIC TESTING
Symptomatic testing is available at the University Testing Center during Spring Break by appointment only. Students experiencing a high fever, difficulty breathing, or a loss of taste or smell should complete the Student Symptomatic Test Request Form to schedule a test at the Testing Center, which will remain open Monday, March 7 through Friday, March 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students who feel ill more generally (e.g., persistent headache, body aches, sore throat, or fatigue) should call UHS at 574-631-7497.

SPRING BREAK TRAVEL GUIDANCE
Our uniformly, highly-vaccinated campus community is considered an area of very low risk. Students who travel to areas of greater risk during Spring Break and experience a high fever, difficulty breathing, or a loss of taste or smell should seek testing immediately. Students who experience these symptoms should also wear a mask and refrain from traveling until they receive a negative test result. COVID-19 tests are available at no cost nationwide at health centers and select pharmacies. Students may also utilize UHS as a resource or download the TimelyCare 24/7 telehealth app to access a medical provider while away from campus.

While traveling, all students are required to wear a mask on planes, buses, trains, and other forms of public transportation traveling into, within, or out of the United States and while indoors at U.S. transportation hubs such as airports and stations. Students should also follow all state and local recommendations and requirements, including mask wearing and physical distancing. In areas with high numbers of COVID-19 cases, consider wearing a mask in crowded outdoor settings and for activities with close contact with others who are not fully vaccinated. Students should also wash their hands or use hand sanitizer frequently.

Senior Fellows Program

The Senior Fellows program is an opportunity for seniors who live on campus to serve in leadership roles that focus on specific University priorities. Students who serve as Fellows will receive an annual minimum $3,000 stipend for 10 hours of work each week and have the opportunity to be mentored and developed as leaders across a variety of specific content areas. The program is open to all rising seniors living on campus for the duration of the 2022-2023 academic year.

Senior Fellow roles are available through the Family Resource Center, the Gender Relations Center, greeNDot, the McDonald Center for Student Well-Being, Multicultural Student Programs and Services, Notre Dame International, the Office of Student Enrichment, and Residential Life. Each office will accept applications through Sunday, March 20.

Learn more about each Senior Fellow role here.

Inclusive Campus Student Survey

All students were recently invited to participate in the administration of the third Inclusive Campus Student Survey, which serves as an opportunity for students to share feedback as we continue to strive to make Notre Dame a more inclusive campus where every individual feels a sense of belonging. Please follow the link in the email you received to complete the survey by this Friday, March 4.

All students who complete the survey are entered into a random drawing to win one of more than 200 prizes, including two sets of Apple AirPods, an Amazon Echo Dot, a Boom 2 Portable Waterproof Bluetooth speaker, five $50 Visa gift cards, four $25 gift cards to the ND Bookstore, and 200 prizes of $5 in Domer Dollars.

The Office of Strategic Planning & Institutional Research is responsible for data management and reporting. Survey results will not be reported in a manner that could identify individuals. Consistent with Notre Dame’s prior administration of the survey, aggregated results will be shared with the university community later this spring.
