COVID-19 Bivalent Booster Update

Effective immediately, the University of Notre Dame will no longer require undergraduate, graduate, and professional students to receive the COVID‑19 bivalent booster vaccine as a condition of enrollment for the 2023-24 academic year. The decision to rescind the COVID‑19 bivalent booster vaccine requirement follows ongoing review of the latest medical information and input from various University stakeholders.

Consistent with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which continues to recommend the primary vaccine series and the most updated booster dose for people ages 12 years or older, the University strongly encourages all members of the campus community to receive a bivalent booster vaccine.

The University of Notre Dame will continue to monitor the situation and will make updates and adjustments as necessary to safeguard the health and well-being of our campus and local community.
