Chris O'Brien, M.S.

Chris O’Brien is a Senior Administrative Assistant supporting Student Development and Residential Life within the Division of Student Affairs. She is a native Hoosier from Anderson, Indiana, and has lived in the South Bend area since 1994.

Ms. O'Brien has broad experience in higher education administration, working in a variety of roles including resident director, advisor, registrar, student conduct, and training and development. For almost 15 years she served as the academic leader at Davenport University’s Indiana campuses, and then as Transfer Coordinator and Admissions Operations Manager for Holy Cross College. Arriving at Notre Dame in 2014, Ms. O'Brien served as the Senior Administrative Assistant to the Chair of Biological Sciences until she transitioned to the Office of Student Affairs in January 2020.

Ms. O'Brien earned her bachelor's degree in sociology and her master's degree in education with a focus on college student personnel administration from Indiana University Bloomington. She and her husband Mike have two daughters and they all enjoy traveling, roller coasters, and watching movies. She is active in the community, is a graduate of Leadership South Bend/Mishawaka (Class XXV), and has been a member of the Kiwanis Club of South Bend since 1997.
