Paul Manrique, J.D.
Program Director, New Student Engagement
As Program Director, New Student Engagement, Mr. Manrique provides leadership and coordination for all aspects of the Division’s involvement in, and contribution to, new student programs. Manrique will work across the Division and University to coordinate resources, develop programing, train students and staff, and further refine the Orientation experience. Serving as a member of the Vice President for Student Affairs’ leadership team, he provides oversight to special projects and initiatives related to new student engagement and support, ensuring that our welcome of new students communicates our values as a community and introduces the distinctive elements of a Holy Cross education.
Manrique worked as a Program Coordinator in the Student Activities Office starting in July of 2013. In that position, he provided support services as the primary contact to the nearly 300 undergraduate clubs across campus. He worked as advisor to the Club Coordination Council, a branch of student government tasked with allocation of club funds and management of prospective club approvals. He also advised two Sophomore Class Councils, where he oversaw the creation of the class signature event, the Great Gatsby Dance. In addition to these roles, Paul was tasked with oversight of the Shamrock Leadership Series - Sophomore Institute, Activities Night, Bookstore Basketball, football concession stands, and nearly 20 late-night and weekend programs.
Prior to joining the Notre Dame family, Manrique practiced for three years as an attorney in Chicago for the firm of Gonzalez, Saggio & Harlan LLP, where he worked in the areas of litigation, education, and government relations. He earned a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Science from Michigan State University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Wisconsin.
